All operations for this scope remain the same. You must be a registered CISR user, make a reservation for the scope through the online calendar, be throughly trained in its operation and use. Please feel free to contact a member of the staff if you have any questions on the new location or its use.

This would include images from the microscopes, training in the use of software, prints from the Codonics, etc. Because we are fortunate to have so much Center support, the list of grant numbers is large.
Style I. The minimum acceptable acknowledgement should read:
"Experiments/Data analysis/presentation [include what you use]" were performed in part through the use of the VUMC Cell Imaging Shared Resource.
Style II. If space permits, please append the following list of grant numbers:

Did you know the sample's surroundings will affect the image to a great degree. For optimal quality, you would ideally like your sample to be immersed in a material with the same index of refraction as our immersion oil (1.518).
Many people prefer to add specific anti-fade reagents, such as the following, to their mounting media (often made from scratch): 1,4-diazobicyclo-(2,2,2)octane (DABCO), n-propyl gallate, p-pheylenediamine dihydrochloride, or ascorbic acid.

Did you know cold depolymerizes cytoskeletal elements, so whenever possible, buffer washes, fixatives, and sample should be at room temperature or warmer to initiate fixation.
All CISR microscopes are available ONLY to those who have been trained in their use by a member of the RESOURCE STAFF.
